Doily Skirts

These little skirts are the latest project to come off the sewing table.  They are made from a linen/cotton fabric with a vintage fabric panel, a vintage doily and button (from my nanna's collection). The skirts are quite long and I picture them as more of a winter skirt to be worn with warm little tights and little leather shoes.
These little ones are size 2/3.  I seem to make all new designs in a size 2/3 so that 'miss E' can try them.  I need to stretch myself and make some different sizes, because "Miss E' does NOT need any more clothes!  Although she did ask which one was hers?

I am looking for a company to make some labels, so until I find one (I am getting a little bamboozled with Google searches), these new little skirts are not quite finished and will be packed away awaiting their 'name tags'

Doily Days!

I was in need of some doilies for a new project I was working on. So I ventured to our local Op shop/garage sale. I couldn’t resist taking this photo. And yes, I did think about taking this whole pile of doilies suitcase and all. A quick trip (child free) turned into a leisurely browse. And a few doilies turned into a few doilies, some vintage children’s books and a pair of motocross pants for my boys! All said and done it was a very successful shopping trip.
